Combined Heat and Power / Cogeneration

Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems are a proven solution to support energy efficiency for many facilities since Cogeneration is a thermodynamically efficient use of fuel. In separate production of electricity, some energy must be discarded as waste heat, but in cogeneration this thermal energy is able to be put to use.  Fraser also performs many installations of commercial scale CHP systems in the 75KW size range. These are typically based on a gas fired reciprocating generator set and produce hot water for thermal output. A hot water loop is installed with tie-ins to the hydronic heating system and Domestic Hot Water systems via heat exchangers and control valves. All electrical output is used within the building.
